The type of materials used for each piece chosen is detailed in the products descriptions on our website. Everyone is different, and may have material allergies. Gold Plating

Most pieces carried at Warm Water will be electroplated with 14K-18k Gold on sterling silver. When gold plating, the base is dipped in liquid gold to form layers of gold. With regular care and storage, your pieces will last well. If exposed boiling water, harsh detergents, oils and perfumes, eventually the coating will wear down, leaving you with a paler shade of gold, closer to its silver base. With good care, your pieces can last. Refer to instructions below to understand how to further do so.

Take Care

We advice removing your Warm Water pieces before exercising, swimming and/or showering. Please avoid contact with any liquids eg. perfumes, hand sanitiser , salt water and hairspray. Storing your pieces in our soft pouches/box provided will ensure tarnishing is avoided. If pieces were wet prior, ensure to dry pieces before storing them in boxes to ensure no humidity begins. Lastly, we recommend protecting them from hard/rough surfaces & extreme temperatures. Clean your pieces regularly with any form of soft , microfibre cloth to refresh it's shine!

Vermeil

Gold Vermeil (pronounced vur-MAY) will always have a core alloy of .925 sterling silver that has been expertly plated with a thick layer of 14k-24k gold. This layer has to be at least 2.5 microns in thickness to qualify as Vermeil. Gold Vermeil is the perfect option for those with metal allergies due to the durable thickness of the gold combined with the base of sterling silver. The thickness of the gold layer is what sets vermeil apart from simple gold plated pieces, making it extremely durable To care for your vermeil pieces, gently buff with a dry cotton cloth and store in original packaging.

 

Sterling Silver

Chosen for its strength and beauty, sterling silver has a lifetime of durability. Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% The addition of copper makes silver strong and durable. The number “925” is used to specify that a metal is sterling silver. We suggest using a polishing cloth with your silver pieces to keep them shiny and clean.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a strong material for jewellery because it's durable and hypoallergenic. It doesn't tarnish or rust like other metals - as they are largely used for intense scenarios. Even though stainless steel is extremely sturdy, it still needs to be cared for in order to keep in great condition. Standard microfibre cloth on the regular to wipe down and clean - but for this material, you can also use a soft tooth brush, warm water & soap to very lightly scrub around. Once you have lightly cleaned your piece, wash lightly with luke warm water.
